Aaliya Mondesir
Based in New York City, Aaliya Mondesir is a Black American composer. Her music is heavily influenced by various video games and anime. Her goal with every piece she writes is to leave the listener with some kind of image that corresponds to her works. The ability to tell a story through music composition is a talent that gives her great pride.As a freelancer, Aaliya has written music for many games in many game jams. In 2021, she participated in the Global Game Jam and her team's game, Little Beach Baby, was honorably mentioned. She also has worked on Run Alob Run, a game on the Apple Store and Google Play Store She was the composer and the level designer for the game.When not composing, Aaliya can be found cosplaying. Recently, she has decided to combine her love for both composition and cosplay and make videos on Tiktok featuring both her cosplays and her music. Her ultimate goal is to inspire others to do what they love, regardless of whether they look like. Aaliya is very aware that there are very few black video game composers, let alone black female video game composers. Despite that, she is still composing to her heart's content regardless of whether she fits in or not. It is truly her passion and it is something she will always pursue.
